Panagiotis Hadjidoukas

Panagiotis Hadjidoukas is Associate Professor in Parallel Computing at the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department of the University of Patras, Greece, where he also serves as Director of the Laboratory for Computing (Computer Center). He received his Diploma, M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Patras in 1998, 2001, and 2003, respectively. He has held research and academic positions at INRIA Rennes, the University of Ioannina, ETH Zurich, and IBM Research Zurich. His research interests include High-Performance Computing, parallel and distributed runtime systems, parallel numerical optimization and uncertainty quantification, as well as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. He has participated in several international research and large-scale computational projects, including PRACE and DOE INCITE projects. He was a co-recipient of the 2013 ACM Gordon Bell Prize and a finalist for the same prize in 2015. He has also received an IBM Outstanding Technical Achievement Award for his contributions to AI automation.
