Dr Spyridon Economou
Dr. Spyridon Economou is the Director General for Hydrogen Technologies at Eunice Energy Group. He leads initiatives supporting Greece’s transition toward a net-zero carbon economy, focusing on green hydrogen, renewable energy development, energy storage, and energy infrastructure. He coordinates the Crete Hydrogen Valley (CRAVE-H2), a flagship Clean Hydrogen Partnership project with a budget of €12 million, and manages a portfolio exceeding €1.2 billion across the European hydrogen value chain. From 2019 to 2023, he served as President of the Board of Directors at CRES (Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving), overseeing more than 80 national and EU R&D projects and contributing to Greece’s National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP). With over 25 years of leadership in the fields of energy, environment, and advanced materials across Europe and the Middle East, Dr. Economou plays a key role in advancing sustainable innovation and the hydrogen value chain in Southeast Europe.
