Vassiliki Liagkou
Vasiliki Liagkou is an Associate Professor in the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications at the University of Ioannina and a member of the Knowledge and Intelligent Computing Laboratory (KIC-LAB). She holds a PhD in Computer Engineering and Informatics from the University of Patras, with a doctoral dissertation on “Secure and Trusted Communication Protocols Using Cryptography and Cryptanalysis,” as well as an MSc in Computer Science and Technology from the same institution.
Her research interests focus on cybersecurity, particularly cryptographic communication protocols, lightweight cryptography for IoT systems, Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs), attribute-based credentials, blockchain-based identity management systems, and machine-learning-based intrusion detection. She has published extensively in international journals and conferences and has participated for more than 16 years in national and European research projects, including H2020 and FP7 projects such as CyberSec4Europe and ABC4Trust.
She teaches courses on System Security, Cryptography, Computer Systems Security, and Information Systems Security. She also regularly serves as a reviewer for international scientific conferences and journals.
