Theofanis Alexandridis
Theofanis Alexandridis is General Director and co-founder of Omega Technology, established in 1985, with headquarters in Athens and regional offices in Patras and Ioannina. For nearly four decades he has shaped the company’s development and strategic direction, working at the intersection of technology, culture, education and digital transformation for public and private organisations in Greece and across Europe.
He has spent his career as a project director and scientific coordinator, leading multidisciplinary teams of engineers, software developers, designers, educators and researchers. His experience covers the analysis, design and implementation of information systems and digital platforms, software development, web-based and interactive applications, and interoperability and data management solutions, delivered for public authorities, universities, cultural organisations and private companies.
A significant part of this work has served the cultural and education sectors, covering the digitisation and documentation of museum and archival collections, digital museums and immersive exhibitions, cultural heritage and tourism platforms, and digital learning environments for schools, universities and vocational training.
More recently his work has expanded into extended reality and human-centred immersive technologies, with applications in education, professional training, cultural heritage and tourism.
He has coordinated and worked within European and national research and innovation initiatives alongside universities, research centres, public authorities, cultural institutions and specialised organisations, supported through Horizon Europe and Horizon 2020, Erasmus+, Creative Europe, the European Space Agency and national research and innovation programmes.
He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA).
