Dr. Athanasios Staveris-Polykalas is the Founder and CEO of Tools of Tech, a Greece-based consulting company specializing in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, telecommunications, and defence technology advisory services.

He previously served as Secretary General of Telecommunications and Posts at the Hellenic Ministry of Digital Governance, where he was involved in national digital policy, telecoms strategy, cybersecurity-related initiatives, and critical digital infrastructure matters.

Through Tools of Tech, Dr. Staveris-Polykalas advises public-sector bodies, critical entities, and private organizations on cybersecurity maturity assessments, NIS2 compliance, cyber resilience, digital governance, AI-enabled solutions, and defence-sector innovation. His work includes strategic consulting for government and institutional clients, preparation of technical and regulatory studies, and support for business development in Greece, Cyprus, and the wider EU market.

He has strong expertise in EU regulatory frameworks, including NIS2, DORA, CER, GDPR, the Cyber Resilience Act, and cybersecurity certification frameworks, as well as in the design of cybersecurity roadmaps, risk assessments, and compliance-oriented digital transformation strategies.

He is also active in the fields of defence consulting, secure telecommunications, emergency communications, digital twins, and critical infrastructure resilience, supporting partnerships between technology providers, public authorities, and institutional stakeholders.
