Dr. Athanasios Staveris-Polykalas is a technology, cybersecurity and digital policy expert with extensive experience in government, critical infrastructure, telecommunications, artificial intelligence and digital transformation. He served as Secretary General for Telecommunications and Posts of the Hellenic Ministry of Digital Governance (2020–2023) and previously as Advisor to the Minister of Digital Governance (2019–2020). During his public-sector tenure, he contributed to Greece’s Digital Transformation and National Cybersecurity strategies and represented Greece in European and international organisations and initiatives in telecommunications, space and cybersecurity. He is the Founder and CEO of Tools of Tech, providing strategic advisory and consulting services in cybersecurity, AI, resilience, critical infrastructure and regulatory compliance, including NIS2, CER and the EU Cyber Resilience Act. Dr. Staveris-Polykalas holds a PhD in High Energy Physics, an MSc in Applied Physics and Mathematics from the National Technical University of Athens, and a BSc in Physics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. His professional and research background combines science, technology, public policy and strategic governance.
